In a colour palette as sweet and delicious as a box of Ladurée macaroons (think pistachio, lemon, violet, rose and vanilla), soft cardigans, demure day dresses, ruffled strapless creations and the odd pencil skirt wafted down the catwalk. Even the leather that was used was coloured in dusky pinks, emphasising the feeling of the show, which was once more of a spring awakening and return to romance.
Attention to detail was feminine and bubbly with rose corsages, appliquéd bows and lace trimmings on everything from skirts, to dresses and even delicate shirts with sensual peek-a-boo bras created from matching lace.
The delicate lace was the major theme throughout the show, used on everything from the dainty lace capes adorning the models’ shoulders, to playful ra-ra skirts swinging from their hips, to lace leggings with delicate miniature buttons down the seams, and even high-heeled ivory coloured lace ankle boots.
Copping succeeded in creating feminine and wearable clothes that girly girls can wear straight off the runway. And serious women can combine with more structured and basic items of clothes that are already in their wardrobe, to create a more edgy look. Either way this collection is pretty lovely.
