Frizzy hair is like having a bad hair day, we always want to find a way to help solve it quickly for luscious locks. Lauren McCowan, creative director of Evo and Cloud Nine shares her top five tips to prevent frizzy hair.
Put moisture back into your mane
Dry hair tends to be frizzy, therefore in order to beat the fuzz, try adding moisture to your hair when possible. Instead of a standard conditioner, use a hydrating hair mask, and after washing your hair, apply a hydrating leave-in-moisturiser to wet hair and allow to dry naturally.
Avoid heat from hair tools, as much as possible
Allow hair to dry naturally, as generally speaking, anything that will blister your skin, is not great for your hair health either.
Maintain a balance between protein rich and hydrating conditioner/masks
Protein is created to maintain hair strength, manage frizz and boost shine.
Use a round brush
When blow-drying hair, use a round brush to keep hair taught, to help smoothen the cuticles.
Oil Up
Once hair is dry (from allowing to dry naturally or blow-drying), apply a few drops of an oil to seal the hair follicle and keep environmental moisture out (which causes hair to fluff out and frizz).
S.O.S
If you find hair is starting to frizz, apply a few drops of oil to dry hair + brush through with wet fingers.
