Normally we would say that judging from the catwalk at Cacharel, the look of the season is pretty as a peach – but then again this is after all the design house that is known for their pretty prints and feminine dresses – which is exactly the look that Cacharel gave its fans for Spring 2010.
Channelling a glass of bubbly came from frothy layers of champagne coloured chiffon, biscuit coloured cardigans, chic t-shirts and shorts combined, floaty t-shirt dresses, sateen trenches, and shirts extended into a-line mini skirts and play suits.
The common theme throughout the collection was the lack of structure, replaced instead by a relaxed fluidity, which created a carefree and breezy feel. Even the muted colours, ranging from nudes to black and browns, occasionally adorned with nude florals were subdued without being sombre.
The simple nude make-up and hair easily pulled back continued the easy, elegant feel. And like the clothes, it was a look we think is safe to try at home!
