The hair at Merecedes Benz Fashion Week Australia gets us just as excited as the stunning clothes themselves. Straightened, curled, hot rolled and wrapped, here are our top five picks created and mastered by the hair genius’ from Goldwell and KMS California.
Dylan Cooper’s debutante collection was topped off with a chic and dangerous up-do created by Dmitri Papas Hair Director for Goldwell. The idea behind the hairstyle is to make longer hair look like a short hairstyle – removing the sides of the hair to create a look like it has been cut short and building the top of the hair to look like a female ‘James Dean’. Very strong and masculine.
To give the hair extreme body we recommend using Goldwell Stylesign Power Whip Mousse and blow dry into the hair.
KMS California Hair Director Clive Allweright from Our Place Salon collaborated with Kym Ellery on the final hair looks for the Ellery SS12/13 show. The sleek and sophisticated knotted buns are an easy, chic alternative to the ballet bun which you can take straight from the runway to the street.
To get that ‘wet hair’ look, that was a common theme throughout the shows at Fashion week, use KMS HAIRPLAY Dry Touch Up ($28.95).
Lee Preston Goldwell Hair Director for the Aurelio Costarella SS12/13 show was inspired by botanic and equestrian feel to create the look. The Botanic feel inspired the knots created by folding the hair over with the two ponytails to create a soft flower form. The Equestrian feel comes from the hair being carved into two ponytails.
For a bit of drama on the catwalk Goldwell StyleSign Composer ($22.95) was mixed with StyleSign Melting Diamonds ($22.95) with talcum powder to create a white paste to use on the part.
KMS California Hair Director Anthony Nader from RAW Hair collaborated with Gary Bigeni on the final look. Anothony Nader for KMS kept things lo-fi and chic at Gary Bigeni SS12/13 as the hair was pulled back into a low ponytail with a matte finish.
Easily achieve the sleek look with KMS California ADDVOLUME Root and Body Lift ($31.95).
Sharon Blain Hair Director for ZIMMERMANN SS12/13. Koskela inspiration for the hair evolved from Kate Moss cover shot from The Face in the 90’s. Angel Punk defines a girly, youthfulness that’s fresh and innocent.
Here’s a simple tip to take this look straight to the street and turn some heads!
– Part the hair across the head. Use pie sections from the top of the ear. Radiate out around the head dividing into five equal sections.
