45 year-old plumber Lee Martin set the bar high upon mentioning the likes of Brad Pitt in his list of skin goals but the team at Oi Cosmetic Studio were confident that 90 days could do the job.
Having worked outdoors most of his life, Lee didn’t often give much thought to his skin. The odd application of SPF here and there, soap and water, or nothing at all, a skincare routine was for girls, wasn’t it?
And despite being committed to an active lifestyle and healthy diet, stress can wreak havoc on the best of skins. Lee’s was no different with visible signs of ageing around the eyes and cheeks, redness, uneven skin tone and dehydration apparent. And so his skin therapist’s challenge was set; to improve overall skin health, deliver a more radiant complexion and importantly, educate on skincare and skin hygiene. This was a gold-star pupil in the making.
Skin Type II, Lee’s skin barrier firstly needed to be repaired because you don’t build a house on shonky foundations and from there, renovations can begin; a concept Lee, as a tradie, was well aware of. Home care products were prescribed, which Lee followed diligently, alongside a series of treatments including Azyme, Micro, Direct Needle Therapy, and Vitapeel expertly prescribed by Serena.
Initially overwhelmed by so many products, it was the revealed sun damage that encouraged Lee, propelling his journey forward with sheer determination. Noticing a difference in texture even after his first treatment, Lee continued a strong commitment to his skin, and himself, enjoying the home care routine and building confidence with each treatment.
And as the layers came off (literally), Lee’s confidence began to shine. Skin Type II, 45 year-old tradie Lee Martin presented with skin suffering the ageing effects of sun damage, dehydration and stress. Uneven and sallow skin tone highlighted lines on the forehead and around the eyes with sagging cheeks also prominent.

Month 1 – February
Skin therapist Serena, of Oi Cosmetic Studio, prescribed home care products and a series of fortnightly treatments according to the client’s skin goals of improved skin health, and a more radiant complexion with less visible signs of ageing.
Beginning with an Azyme treatment, the skin was prepped and Azyme applied for eight minutes.
Two weeks later the same treatment was performed. Post care advice included no active products for five days after treatment and the use of Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum morning and night, with Ultra Replenishing Mask to sleep in.
Month 2 – March
With Lee’s skin barrier dramatically improved Serena performed Direct Needle Therapy on the forehead, nose and eyes. Skin response was good and a fortnight later a Vitapeel was applied.
Lee’s skin texture and tone continued to improve, revealing a glowing complexion that was soft, smooth and visibly healthier.
Month 3 – April/May
Continuing his home care routine, Lee returned for two more treatments of Direct Needle Therapy (DNT) to encourage further stimulation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
As previously, Lee was advised to use no active products for five days post-treatment and the use of Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum morning and night, with Ultra Replenishing Mask to sleep in.
Lee’s final treatment was a Vitapeel . The same aftercare was followed with the addition of keeping skin dry for 12 hours. Amazed with his overall results Lee continued to see improvement in his skin in the weeks following DNT treatments.
