We were overwhelmed by all the fabulous hair inspiration at last week’s Melbourne Fashion Festival. From luxurious curls to straight styles and edgy punk twists, there was something for every taste, and we can’t wait to try out all the best looks at home.

The Look: Twists and Curls
We love the cool, textured beach vibe of these loose curls. Tight twists at the side give the style a tougher edge and add a quirky twist to a look that exudes sexiness and glamour.
Steal the look:
- Start by double moussing the hair. Apply mousse at the roots and work through to the ends. Repeat this process and then blast dry.
- Using medium sized curling tongs, curl the entire head of hair. Pin curls to scalp and leave to cool. Once cool, release the curls.
- Create a side part using the arch of your eyebrow or the centre of your eye as a guide. Pull the hair back in line with the crown.
- On the non-fringe hanging side, create three horizontal sections. Twist each section back, following the natural curve of the head around the ear. Secure with bobby pins at the nape of your neck.
- Sprinkle a texturizing powder at the roots for soft volume and then spray dry shampoo to the remaining hair to thicken and add texture. While spraying use your fingers to loosen the curls. Spray with hairspray to keep in place.

The Look: Sleek Straight Blow Dry
Sleek, straight hair is a chic way to complete any ensemble, and the runways of Melbourne Fashion Festival showed off some of the most polished straight styles around.
Steal the look:
- Apply a protective product through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and blow dry smooth.
- Straighten the hair from roots to tips with a straightening iron.
- Create a strong centre part all the way down to the nape of your neck, and sweep lengths over shoulders on each side.
- Lift the hair slightly at the roots of the part and sprinkle a texturising powder over the hair. Massage in with fingers to create root lift and a dry texture. This will give your hair volume and create a soft bounce for your straight locks.

Apply to your hair when styling and notice an immediate increase in texture, making your hair easier to style for more fabulous looks. L’Oréal Professionel is available at selected salons nationally.
