Are you on a budget but don’t want to substitute your stylish ways? Meet your new covetable label Uscari; and say hello to stylish threads at great prices.
Background and History
Emerging label Uscari is the product of designer Krystel Davis, who saw a need to fill a gap in the market for youthful designs with an avant-garde approach. As a new label seeking to survive in the challenging Australian fashion industry, Uscari has already formed a loyal following of stylish women who appreciate the strong direction and innovative designs that form the basis of the labels philosophy.
Style and Philosophy
Uscari has taken a new approach to on-trend designs. Krystel clearly focuses on current trends, with her recent collections featuring the structured power blazer, leggings and bodysuits as staple designs. What sets Uscari apart from other trend chasing labels, is the unusual detail and fine tailoring added to each popular trend, to give it substance and individuality.
Past Summer collections have focused on light, floating fabrics in easy to wear singlet dresses and comfortable pocket shorts. With this unpretentious design focus, Uscari has quickly become an accessible and popular label for women who don’t want to spend ridiculous amounts on clothing but still want to achieve a fresh, trend driven look.
Whilst the Summer aesthetic for Uscari is playful and sexy, Krystel does not substitute these attributes for her Winter designs, but simply incorporates them into cosy yet stunningly fashion-forward pieces. Leather pants, eyelet detail dresses and studded jackets are just a few of the key pieces to control this collection. Exotic styling in a raw youthful location dominates the Uscari look book for Winter 2010. Krystel adds a touch of animal print and fringe detail to enlighten the labels wearable designs, creating an affordable style for the trend conscious shopper.
Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and the Future
With an eye for unusual design, Krystel provides her designs with heavy top stitching, panelling and low flirtatious necklines. This year, Uscari is preparing to showcase for the first time at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, and we are expecting the labels distinct detail to shine through on the runway.
Uscari will be apart of a group collection show at RAFW amongst fellow labels Carly Hunter, Guanabana Designs, and Story by Tang. The Women’s Ready to Wear show is set to reveal the latest talent from this group of emerging labels. Uscari is showing at RAFW on Monday 3rd May 2010.
