This week, we’ve felt a little bit cooler. Not weather-wise (though the chill has been getting to us big time!), but spirit-wise. Maybe it was the opening of Vanishing Elephant that did it. Or perhaps Mimco‘s elaborate new campaign video, that brings together top bloggers and filmmakers. It might have been the C&M Spring Summer logo-tastic looks. Or even our hundredth view of Sienna and Tom’s Burberry campaign film. Whatever it was, this weekend, we are striding, not walking.

Vanishing Elephant Opens in Westfield Bondi Junction
Vanishing Elephant; purveyors of the finest casual cotton and understated cool have finally arrived in Sydney, moving into a minimal space inside Bondi Junction Westfield earlier this month. Though originally Sydney boys, designers Arran Russel, Felix Chan, and Huw Bennet have found great success with their stand-alone store in Melbourne, which opened two years ago. Now the boys are back in town, and all of the delightful, effortless pieces that are Vanishing Elephant’s trademark can be found in one place. The store is not only stocked with the new season collection that debuted earlier this year at Australian Fashion Week; they have also included an eclectic edit of a few of their favourite things- bags and accessories from Tailfeather and Makr, footwear by Jack Purcell and Buddy, jewellery by Pink LouLou, Pared eyewear, and Triumph & Disaster soaps.
The space has been fitted out with the same vision of organic simplicity that defines the clothes; polished concrete floors, white walls, and a bare wooden frame whisks you from the hustle of the wide boulevards of Westfield into a little private nook of zen. Or not- this place could very easily pack out with hipsters on the weekends.

Mimco Season 2: ‘The Alchemy Symposium’
Following the success of Mimco’s Season 1 2013 ‘Paradise Batallion’ campaign, in which muses from the MIMCOLLECTIVE community were invited to collaborate on a campaign, Mimco has created ‘The Alchemy Symposium.’ Where the previous campaign brought together real-life lovers, this season five pairs of sisters from across the nation were selected to star in the campaign. Shot amongst the rugged rocks and wild terrain of Sydney’s Botany Bay, the collection was inspired by zin and yang nature of sisterly relationships- the close bonds that unite sisters, and the differences that separate them as individuals. Featured in the campaign are gorgeous sisters and bloggers Stef and Jess Dadon, whose stylish blog How To Live (www.howtolive.com) informed the strong, yet delicate aesthetic. We absolutely adore the campaign video too!
Conceived by Australian filmmaking duo Folie à Deux, who have recently made waves at the Berlin Film Festival, ‘Sisters of the Tide’ envisions a high luxe, mythical underwater fantasy, filled with glimmering turquoise seas and gorgeous Mimco pieces.

C&M Camilla and Marc SS13 Campaign
We have hearted Camilla and Marc’s teen-princess-at-the-skatepark diffusion line ever since we spied the C&M logo on a varsity jacket. Well, this season’s collection has only increased our lust! Riffing on the themes that have run through each collection, this season combined logos and American football with feminine delicacy. There are metallic jacquard bomber jackets and pleated minis along with gorgeous organza lace and geometric prints. A daring ‘abstract tiger’ print makes an appearance, and that item of the moment; the luxe logo cap arises with the C&M logo emblazoned on its front. So cool. The sports luxe trend feels as fresh as ever, and the C&M collection combined the look with a pretty edge that oh so perfectly fits the needs of an Aussie girl in Summer. RESCU loves: the black strapless bustier mini pared with a baseball cap, the metallic gold skater skirt with grey and white cotton tee, and finally, the peach and beige summer bomber- varsity crispness meets Bondi beach (I can practically taste mango gelato just looking at it!)
The collection is available online and in stores now.

Burberry Autumn Winter 2013 Campaign Film
We know the campaign has been running strong for a little while now (we even wrote about it here), but we’ve just seen the slick (yet sensuous) campaign film ‘Trench Kisses,’ featuring lovers Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge and we are swooning all over again. The song “Hold Me,” by Tom Odell perfectly captures the couple’s understated passion in the campaign; Tom a skinny black suit and classic black trench, Sienna in super slick tortoiseshell shades and refined leopard ballet flats. Let’s watch it again now, shall we?
