Venice Film Festival
The Venice Film Festival, in its 68th year, has just kicked off sending stars flocking to the northern Italian city to celebrate the latest and greatest in film.
Cindy Crawford stole the show at the opening ceremony for the festival wearing a red full-length Roberto Cavalli gown with silver Chopard jewels.
The Ideas of March was the first film to premiere at the festival and saw the likes of George Clooney, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei and Phillip Seymour Hoffman walk the red carpet.
Diane Kruger was there to support looking stunning in nude, soft tulle Elie Saab gown. With bejewelled embellishments and her blonde hair in perfect waves, Kruger really stole the show and got us excited for the red carpet appearances of stars such as Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Selma Blair.
Madonna as Director
Madonna may be the queen of pop but her first directorial effort for film Filth and Wisdom was a complete flop. Given this, the fact that her second attempt will be premiering at Venice has everyone on the edge of their seats.
Yesterday the Material Girl appeared at Venice for the very first time, for a packed-out press conference during which she discussed the film titled W.E. The film is a drama based on Wallis Simpson and stars Andrea Riseborough as Simpson who said of Madonna, “I’ve never worked with a director who so effortlessly, cleanly and with great clarity was able to make a great piece of art.”
We can’t wait to hear the reviews from this one!
Vera Wang to Sell Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Dress
We can hardly believe it but designer Vera Wang has officially announced she will be knocking off her own designs to sell replicas of two of the dresses in Kim Kardashian’s wedding at a much lower price point.
The designer has created copies of both the dress Kim wore to the ceremony and her first dance dress to sell at David’s Bridal in New York City. Each gown will be just $1600; a far cry to what the originals would have set a bride back.
They will be available from February 2011 and, although they won’t look exactly like Kim’s, Wang told E! they, “will certainly capture that sense of old-fashioned romance.”
Kim and her new husband have just landed in New York City where the couple will be living. To celebrate the big move, designer Colin Cowrie and publisher Colin Cowrie threw the pair a huge party where Kim admitted she’s already thinking about starting a family.
