Victoria Beckham has turned her attention to designing cars and Tyra Banks farewells three long standing judges on the hit TV show America’s Next Top Model.
The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer, Victoria Beckham, who recently celebrated her 38th birthday, has unveiled a special edition Range Rover as part of her latest design process.
Victoria Beckham showed off her motoring design skills, as she unveiled her very own Limited Edition Range Rover Evoque at the Beijing Motor Show. The special blinged up motor – named the Special Edition with Victoria Beckham – will hit the showrooms with an awesome 80,000 euros as the price tag, which is actually almost double the normal price!
Only 200 of the exclusive 4x4s will be available to buy – we wonder which celebs will be able to get their hands on the very Beckham car. Victoria stunned at the unveiling ceremony held at the Cafa Art Museum in Beijing, wearing a fitiing cream and brown dress paired with knee high leather boots. Victoria tweeted during the show about how proud she was of her car, writing: “Thank u so much to the wonderful team at Range Rover. I loved collaborating with you, I’m so proud of our #VBEvoque. Goodnight Beijing! X VB” The car features a range of special personal touches from Victoria, including baseball-style stitching on the leather seats, to signify her life in the US.
Victoria spoke about the mini SUV, saying, “I brought a naivety to this project because I have never designed a car before. But it feels real . . . When I first started working with the team I did a lot of research, and created mood boards to show the team my love of timeless and classic design. I looked at yachts, luxury jets and classic cars.”
After almost ten years with “America’s Next Top Model,” photographer Nigel Barker, “runway coach” J. Alexander, and creative director Jay Manuel have been given the axe by none other than Tyra herself.
Page Six reported, “The three mentors were informed yesterday morning that their contracts would not be renewed for the next season.”
Tyra confirmed the shocking news on her Facebook page by writing a farewell tribute to her three fellow judges and mentors, “To my Nigel Barker, Miss J, and Mr Jay: Thank you for all of our years together on America’s Next Top Model! Working with you is always an absolute pleasure. Excited for what the future holds for us. XOXO, TyTy”
Nigel Barker tells TMZ, the show’s in for a rude awakening now that he’s been canned because his shoes will be INCREDIBLY difficult to fill. Nigel tells us, “Good luck to whoever [replaces me]. I would imagine it’s a tricky thing to replace someone who’s going on their 19th season.”
The network is apparently bent on completely revamping the show after record low ratings the last two seasons. But he adds, “Who knows if this is going to work? I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea. Maybe it will work. Maybe it won’t. I wish them luck.”
