Westwood’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection, titled ‘The Only One,’ was a reference to both Earth’s past civilisations through to the future as well as her own role as the queen of British designers.

Westwood said her inspiration was drawn from “… markers of different views of life; from people who saw the world differently from us,” and her clothes breathed their own quality in materials like pool towels and pillowcases that were draped into haphazard poufs – as much homage to Westwood’s own rebellious punk rhetoric as her love of cultures gone by.
Pantene Pro-V’s Global Style Ambassador Sam McKnight created dishevelled Egyptian headdresses, complete with contrasting pins and clay at the nape of the neck, to evoke Westwood’s vision.

To get the look:
- McKnight blow-dried clean hair and then applied Pantene Pro-V Body Builder Mousse through the hair from roots to ends before blow-drying the hair back, away from the face. “The texture of the hair should not be too smooth,” he said.
- Then, from a low side parting, taken from the hairline to the crown, McKnight brushed a section of hair low across the forehead and around the head, following the hairline, securing with hairgrips in a contrasting colour to each girl’s hair.
- He secured a foam hair-donut at the crown using pins, to elongate the shape of the hair and give extra height. McKnight then proceeded to take successive sections, at three-to-four inch intervals, and wrapped the hair around the head, securing with pins and finishing by covering the donut to disguise it. “This style shouldn’t look too polished,” McKnight said and proceeded to tease out hairs to create a slightly dishevelled appearance.
- For long-lasting hold, McKnight then misted on Pantene Pro-V Body Builder Hairspray.
As a final style detail for the show, white clay was applied to the hairline just above the ear or at the nape of the neck, swept on in the direction in which the hair was wrapped.
