We had quite a week here in Australia last week! Not only was it Rosemount Australian Fashion Week but also Katy Perry was in town for her tour and Robert Pattinson graced our shores with his co-star Reese Witherspoon for the Water for Elephants premiere.
Water for Elephants Premiere
After a press conference in Luna Park, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson made their way to 300 metres of red carpet running down Pitt Street to the State Theatre for the huge premiere of their film Water for Elephants.
The stars arrived at around 6.30pm to a crowd who had been waiting since morning and early afternoon to get a glimpse of them! Sydney was the last stop for the pair who have been on a promotional tour around the world that started a few weeks ago.
The film, based on a book by Sarah Gruen, is a dramatic love story between the two characters and has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews, most of which describe the pairs intense chemistry.
Of course a celebrity trip to Sydney is not without a visit to some designer stores in Paddington. Reese reportedly visited the Camilla and Marc and Zimmermann in between the conference and huge premiere.
It was Rob’s first trip down under and he upstaged Reese just a little thanks to the huge numbers of screaming girls waiting to catch a glimpse of the Twilight hunk.
The ever humble British star told media, “You never really get used to all this,” mentioning that the fans screaming his name still felt surreal to him after all this time.
Katy Perry in Australia
Pop sensation Katy Perry has officially departed Australia for Auckland, New Zealand before coming back to Brisbane for one final show on the 15th of May. The star arrived in Australia on April 25th and has since been travelling around for her California Dreams world tour.
Each and every one of her shows has been met with critical acclaim, with reporters saying her tour may go down as one of Australia’s best ever arena spectacles!
With twelve costume changes, including a peacock, a tower of muffins, a love heart, a cat and a candy cane, Perry performed all the favourites as well as some covers including Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair, BFF Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World) and Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
In between performances, Katy thrilled five hundred fans who had pre-purchased their bottle of her perfume Purr in order to secure their space in the VIP area in Myer Melbourne flagship store. Perry wore a sparkling purple and black dress from brand Versus by Versace and appeared with four lookalikes dressed in her signature catsuit.
