With all that strutting up and down the catwalk, often in sky-high ankle breaking heels, there is no denying that even models need a little R&R at the end of a long day at work.
The Model Sanctuary is the brainchild of supermodel Erin O’Connor, who created the initiative to provide a refuge for the hundreds of beautiful young things who descend upon London for Fashion Week each year, often without their agents, managers and family members to look out for their best interests.
Located at London’s Mayfair Hotel, The Model Sanctuary -now in it’s fourth season, is a private models-only haven, which offers complimentary access to nutritionists, psychologists, copious amounts of food, and beauty treatments to help models stop, revive and survive London Fashion Week.
This year, The Model Sanctuary has joined forces with organic beauty pioneers Weleda, providing models with natural and organic body care products to refresh and invigorate them between shows.
Weleda have supplied a variety of pampering products, including some personal favourites of Erin O’Connor herself, including the Weleda classic Skin Food, plus nourishing body oils, eco-friendly shower products including Weleda’s newly launched Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash, and Foot Balm to soothe those aching feet.
“I discovered Weleda some years ago when a friend introduced me to Skin Food,” says Erin. “I fell in love with the simplicity of the product including its packaging and scent. Because of their holistic philosophy, I felt that Weleda would be ideal to support the Model Sanctuary.”
