In my old career, I was constantly up to my armpits in couture ready-to-wear, take-your-breath-away handbags and sell-an-essential-organ-I must-have-those shoes. In my current line of work however, it’s more likely to be nappy rash cream, endless wipes and sandpits. This can have a somewhat detrimental effect on one’s hands and nails, most importantly as diamonds don’t look nearly as good on less-than-perfect fingers!
So it was fate that I was assigned to test three hand creams – Planet Eve Luxe Hand Cream, KORA (by Miranda Kerr) Hand Cream Treatment (LOVING a beauty line by a supermodel!) and Ella Baché Moisture Bath Hand Renew.
And I’m delighted to say that after having resorted on several previous occasions to sleeping with sorbolene-slathered hands in cotton gloves (all to no avail BTW), these three products all proved to have outstanding benefits:
Planet Eve is Australian Certified Organic, free of toxic and synthetic ingredients, and contains powerful antioxidants Acai and Lingonberry. Combined with Bulgarian Rose and Shea Butter, it nourished my dry, dehydrated skin whilst smelling divinely of Christmas in Aspen.
KORA is also organic and offers anti-ageing protection with its blend of Noni Berry, avocado and olive oils. A little part of me was hoping to wake up one morning with a Victoria Secret model’s backside however dreams in tubes can only deliver so far. It looks, feels and smells like a product in one of those fabulously über-exclusive New York spas you would expect a supermodel to go to.
And finally, the Ella Baché Hand Renew is velvety soft and derived from Shea Butter, Babassu and Melon – it really is like a moisture bath and soooo-rich, therefore protecting my hands all day. I also noticed my nails grew strong and less brittle = less breakage!
So now I’m off to look at some seriously big rocks to commemorate a very significant wedding anniversary with my perfect hands and nails…
Who will love these products? Anyone with dry hands and/or brittle nails due to constant wear and tear. Mums in particular should invest in a good hand cream as you are constantly washing your hands and cleaning up!
