Will.i.Am, fresh from opening Sydney’s newest hot-spot, The Star’s Marquee, will return to Sydney once again to join a stellar line- up of international artists, musicians, and thought leaders appearing at Vivid Sydney 2012. Speaking of hot, Bar Refaeli has been crowned the hottest women in the world by men’s magazine Maxim in their 2012 Hot 100 list.
As Director of Creative Innovation for Intel, will.i.am will participate in Vivid Sydney on a world- first interactive lighting collaboration on the façade of the recently constructed new wing of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) with renowned Sydney artist Justene Williams, facilitated by world- leading Sydney digital arts company Spinifex.
will.i.am first came to prominence as founder and creative force behind The Black Eyed Peas, one of the biggest, most successful hip- hop acts in the world, boasting 31 million album sales worldwide.
Billed as a world first, the installation will allow festival-goers to literally ‘play the building’ via a purpose-built interface that interacts with will.i.am’s music and the projections of renowned Sydney artist Justene Williams, whose performative style is particularly suited to the collaboration. Using arm and hand gestures, the public can direct the artwork and rearrange will.i.am’s loops and samples, controlling the tone and chord progression.
“The MCA is going to become an instrument for the people of Sydney to play,” said will.i.am. “The project illustrates the magic that can be created when innovative minds and technology come together”.
Bar Rafaeli, world renowned Israeli model, has taken out the title as Maxim Magazine’s Hottest woman in the world – not a bad title to have!
The model took to the Twittersphere to announce her excitement: ‘So happy and honored to be #1 on #Maximhot100! thank you @maximmag! “This is very exciting!”‘ she wrote on her Twitter page.
This year was the first time Maxim had their readers help decide who is on the list.
Coming in second place for the second year in a row is Magic Mike star Olivia Munn, and bumping up from fifth place to third from last year is Mila Kunis.
Bar Rafaeli rose to fame in the early 2000s after numerous modelling campaigns but most notable dating actor, leonardo DiCaprio – who seems to have a thing for leggy blondes.
Meanwhile Rafaeli has launched her own underwear line. The range, called Under.Me, is exclusively designed by the model, who has stuck to simple lines and soft cotton for her range.
When she launched it she said: ‘My underwear is the clothing article closest to my body, and as such, I want it to complement it and not steal the show. There is nothing better than simple, comfortable, quality clothing.
‘My work means I’m travelling all the time, rushing from city to city and wearing the most incredible, elaborate designs. I love it, but on my downtime I just want to relax and be myself.’
Who would you have picked?
