This week was all about new discoveries and old favourites expanding their horizons. While we lusted over Zimmermann‘s Resort collection, straight from New York, we were also discovering LA jewellery cowboys The 2 Bandits, cheering with delight at the news of Shopbot‘s collaboration with Macy’s and Bloomingdales, and flexing our shopping muscle for the upcoming Sydney warehouse sales;

Zimmermann Resort 2014 Showing in New York
While we were fast asleep on this side of the world, Zimmermann presented their Resort Ready-To-Wear collection at the Hosfelt Gallery in New York. The collection, entitled Good Love was shown to an intimate presentation for media, a whimsical reinterpretation of the classic ‘good girl gone bad’ theme, the presentation depicted a darkly romantic vision of a fall from grace, citing films such as Badlands and Picnic at Hanging Rock as inspiration. A host of models-of-the-moment walked for the label, opening girl Ruby Jean Wilson channelling the dual innocence and vampish spirit of the collection.
Ethereal white ruffles and intricately detailed crochet arose, realised in on-trend pieces like maxi-dresses and drop-waisted skirts, along with gingham separates that nodded towards the ‘new punk’ trend that has re-emerged with an emphasis on print. The collection then turned towards the ‘fall,’ with flouncy black chiffon and intricate gypsy prints. The highlight? A sexy black bodysuit with delicate cut–outs and an open back and ruffles surrounding a high neck.
The event signalled a more sophisticated direction for the iconic Australian label, as well as their increasing international focus, having also recently signed a lease on new flagship store in Soho. The label has also announced their debut at New York Fashion Week in September later this year.

Introducing… The 2 Bandits
Here at RESCU, we find it hard to go past a retro reference. Particularly during festival season, there’s nothing we love more than channelling rock and roll muses from the ‘60s and ’70s with fringing, leather, free-flowing tresses and tribal accessories. So you can imagine our delight when San Francisco-based jewellery label The 2 Bandits came on our radar.
Western-influenced and gem-laden, the most recent lookbok was shot by renowned photographer Jason Lee Parry and featured Australian model Anja Konstantinova. The Navajo-inspired shoot has us dreaming of Coachella and Lollapalooza, the onyx and amber pieces perfect for layering, or to be worn alone with natural fibres and an devil-may-care attitude.
The range drops in October, but you can browse, shop and swoon at the gorgeous imagery right now on their website;
