If you’re coveting Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ’s flawless complexion, glossy hair and luscious pout, you’re not alone. The British model, actress, and face of ModelCo is one of the most gorgeous faces in the business and with these simple steps you can steal her signature look and wear it as your own.
The Skin:
Start with primer to achieve Rosie’s model quality makeup look – this little trick will have your coverage lasting all day long.
Follow by applying a liquid foundation and blend all over for a dewy, even coverage. For this shoot, Rosie wore ModelCo Fluid Splash 3 in 1 Foundation.
The Cheeks:
Apply a matte bronzer under the cheekbones and along the top of your forehead. The matte formula used in this look works to create shadow and accentuate Rosie’s angles, as well as give her a flawless glow.
The Eyes:
To create the look pictured, try ModelCo’s Eye Shadow Trio in Moroccan Spice. ‘Maldives’ and ‘St Barts’ were layered, before applying the chocolate brown ‘Jamaica’ shade both on the lids and under the eyes, concentrating on sweeping the colour outwards for a more “dramatic, feline look”. The look was finished by brightening her eyes with a hint of gold ‘Maldives’ in the inner corners.
Compliment this smokey eye with a stroke of bold gel eyeliner over the upper lash line, and pencil eyeliner along the lower lashes for a complete cat eye look. Finish with many coats of a luscious thickening mascara.
The Lips:
To create a glamorous, lacquered pout start with a layer of bold red lipstick, before applying a coat of gloss for maximum shine. ‘My all-time favourite lipstick colour… red,’ says Rosie. ‘I feel sexy and empowered when I’mwearing red.’
The Hair:
To help you get Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s voluminous waves, Rescu. spoke to Kérastase Paris Creative Stylist Sarah Laidlaw. Follow her simple steps below to nail Rosie’s signature hair.
1. Firstly have a look at what you’re washing your hair with. All shampoos are NOT created equal. If your hair isn’t being renewed by the home care you use, then it’s time to change. By starting with quality hair care, your locks will feel clean and luxe.
2. While it’s still damp, work mousse through. This will give the hair weightless volume. Blow-dry it in with your fingers, lifting the hair at the roots.
Rescu. Recommends: Kérastase Paris Mousse Bouffante ($40). If you never seem to be able to get that boost of volume, this is the mousse for you. The luxurious volumising formula will give you Rosie’s professional quality bounce. Available at Kérastase Paris salons nationally.
3. Once it’s completely dry, you’re going to tong with a large curling iron (around 1.5″ in diameter). Take vertical sections all the way from the top of the head to the nape, but keep them narrow so you’re not trying to curl too much hair at once.
Try: VS Sassoon Big Hair Soft Curls Styler ($39.95). This ceramic styler delivers frizz free shiny curls in seconds. The 1.5” barrel makes this perfect for achieving Rosie’s bouncing curls.
2. Hold the iron vertically and wrap the hair around the barrel, working back away from the face. Do each section in the same direction to achieve an open lush wave. Test how hot the hair is getting on the barrel by carefully touching the hair with your fingertip. If the hair isn’t getting hot, it won’t hold the wave. Test it until it’s hot then let the curl out and clip it up with a sectioning clip while it cools.
3. Do the same on the other side of the head. Remember to wind away from the face on this side too, so the wave falls in a pretty shape.
4. Run your fingers through the waves to break them up. I wouldn’t brush the curls out for this style as you want to keep that piece-y texture.
5. Finish with a mist of texturising spray. Run your fingers through the mid-lengths and ends and the spray will give you the perfect finish for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley waves. Heaven.
