While many women credit their interest in beauty to their mothers, for Terry Kaljo it was an aunt who spurred on a passion for makeup. ‘I think I was a tomboy when I was a child, but I was absolutely fascinated by an aunt that I had who was a bit of a glamourpuss,’ she says.
‘She used to win beauty contests, so she was quite amazing. I guess I probably experimented through her makeup drawer, and then funnily enough I was lucky to do a few years as a model, fashion editor, and I’ve learned a few tricks of the trade.’
But when it comes to celebrity beauty icons, Terry Kaljo turns to iconic and elegant faces, saying, ‘I loved Isabel Rossellini, to me she was just a classic, I mean of course she had the bones, the mouth, she had everything.’
